Evan Sallis, The Denture Craftsman......a brief introduction!

My journey in Dental Technology started in the pre internet age, good old 1992. As an individual passionate about crafting, coupled with a desire to help people, denture manufacturing won me over early on! From 1995 - 2007 the journey was one of joy and exploration. I travelled, studied, worked and honed my skills across continents. From New Zealand to Ireland to Spain to Australia, every country and dental master I collaborated with augmented the skill base. In 2005, after years of juggling part-time University degree and postgraduate qualifications, a golden opportunity presented! Otago University approved a Dental Pros postgraduate qualification.

The day following graduation it was full steam ahead treating patients. Over 18 years our clinical practice flourished. Ongoing investment in education, technology, processes, staff and community engagement was the most rewarding progression imaginable. The business grew from analogue to digital with a fantastic cohort of great professionals sharing their expertise with us and our patient base.

We became the go-to Dental Pros for implant retained dentures and were blessed to collaborate with an international cohort of Oral Surgeons, Dentists and Technicians.

In 2021 our family felt like another adventure so following a self-brokered trade sale, bags were packed, Europe, then finally Brisbane.

My current role is Lecturer of Dental Prosthetics at the TAFE Queensland South Bank Campus here. This has been an outstanding opportunity to give back to the next generation, helping them develop the skills to facilitate rewarding professional careers.
